Breathwork & yoga

TAP INTO THE POWER OF BREATH & MOVEMENT

Many people in many cultures for thousands of years have used breathwork practice for connection, healing, and enlightenment. Breathwork has roots in the traditions of ancient breath practices like Pranayama and newer practices like Holotropic breathing. This particular style of breathwork is a multi-part, fast-paced, active breath meditation through your mouth that quiets your mind and quickly connects you to your own energy, body, and wisdom.

This style of breathwork has the possibility of supporting the following:

  • Moving stuck emotions

  • Reducing stress and physical pain

  • Relieving depression and anxiety

  • Sustaining energy throughout the day

  • Dealing with sleep disturbances

  • Leading to deeper spiritual connection or intuitive guidance

  • Increasing creativity and embodiment

Breathwork can also be combined with a restorative or vinyasa yoga practice. Work with me individually or in a group class.

What People Are Saying

“My breathwork session with Naomi was a revelation. I went into our hour expecting a meditative reflection. Instead it was an unexpected powerful hour of grieving a loss I’ve struggled with for years. as a result of Naomi’s guidance, I found a sense of closure and peace that has stayed with me since.

It is rightly named breath work. it is indeed work, worth every minute. I cannot recommend Naomi’s sessions enough, especially if you are looking for a path forward that you have been unable to find on your own.”

FAQs

  • Breathwork is an umbrella term for any conscious breathing practice. The style of breathwork that I practice and facilitate has roots in the traditions of ancient breath practices like Pranayama and newer practices like Holotropic. This practice been used for connection, healing, enlightenment, and grounding by many people in many cultures for thousands of years. It’s a multi-part, fast-paced, active breath through your mouth that quickly connects you to your energy, body, and wisdom.

Breathwork is work. It requires you to show up, dig deep, move through possible discomfort, and take responsibility for your own healing -- with guidance, support, and witnessing from me.

  • This style of breathwork has the possibility of supporting the following:

    Moving stuck emotions

    Reducing stress and physical pain

    Relieving depression and anxiety

    Sustaining energy throughout the day

    Dealing with sleep disturbances

Leading to deeper spiritual connection or intuitive guidance

    Increasing creativity and embodiment

I personally have found relief from chronic pain and grief and more connection to my body and intuition.

  • Breathwork doesn’t require much preparation. You will do the active breathing work lying down, so you’ll want to have a space to do this. Sitting comfortably with support is also an option. You may prefer to wear comfortable clothing and make sure you are hydrated. You may wish to have a blanket, lip balm, and water on hand. Some people prefer to breathe with an eye shade over their eyes or a bolster or pillow under their knees. All of these things are totally up to you -- the goal is to ensure you’re comfortable.

  • At the start of your breathwork session, we will have a short conversation about your expectations and to set intentions. We will engage in a grounding meditation, and depending on your desires, a short journaling exercise. Next, I will teach you the active breathing pattern, and I will guide you through the active breathing portion of our session with music, prompts, and sacred space. The length of this active breathing portion depends on the length of our session, but plan on a minimum of ~25-35 minutes. Then, we will move back to normal breathing and integration. We will close our session with either additional journaling and/or a conversation focused on reflection and closure.

Each person experiences breathwork differently but some common experiences include tingling, vibrating, temperature changes, hand cramping, weightedness and/or a floating sensation, and emotional release. These experiences vary by person and by session.

Private sessions allow me the opportunity to tailor the experience to your personal needs and more fully support you. Group sessions also provide space to tap into the needs of your body and intuition while doing so in a collective healing space.

  • After care is important. You will be tender and open following the session. You may experience a flood of emotions -- or little at all. You may feel energized; you may also feel tired. I recommend to go easy and be kind and gentle to yourself for the days following the session. Drink plenty of water. Find ways to ground yourself through journaling, movement, time in nature, soaking in baths, or other ways that work for you. Listen to your body and spirit, and give it what it needs without judgment.
